"Blood conservation and “ bloodless”  cardiovascular surgery has been a clinical interest of mine for over a decade. I am extremely fortunate to work with a dedicated group of anesthesiologists, perfusionists and operating room personnel at the Houston Methodist hospital who share my commitment to excellence in patient care and evidence based medicine.

My receipt of the SABM Kathleen J Sazama award for 2015 is a great and humbling honor.  I view it as the result of a coordinated effort by a very talented group of health care providers. I accept this award on their behalf, as well as that of all patients that we have had the privilege of caring for."
