SABM Patient Blood Management Awareness Week

From November 5-9, 2018, the Society for the Advancement of Blood Management (SABM) will celebrate the 12th Annual Patient Blood Management Awareness Week.

[Englewood, NJ] [November 5-9, 2018] – The Society for the Advancement of Blood Management (SABM) has announced that the week of November 5th through November 9th has been designated for the 12th Annual Patient Blood Management Awareness Week. SABM invites healthcare organizations worldwide to participate in this week dedicated to educating patients and healthcare professionals about patient blood management and transfusion overuse.

Founded in 2001, SABM is an educational organization comprised of a network of medical practitioners from a wide variety of medical and scientific disciplines who are dedicated to improving health outcomes, increasing safety, and reducing healthcare costs through the advancement of scientific knowledge and practice in Patient Blood Management. SABM advances best practice to thousands of healthcare providers through CME programs and the creation of learning tools and development of evidence based clinical pathways.

To further raise awareness, SABM is providing a toolkit on its website (www.sabm.org) for healthcare organizations interested in promoting best practices and education in blood management during Patient Blood Management Awareness Week.
