Welcome to the Spring Newsletter!
Hello from the SABM Newsletter team,
The 2017 Spring edition contains a host of interesting and exciting information that we hope will continue to help you and your institutions as your PBM programs grow. A couple of highlights:
The Breaking Clinical News subsection features synopses of articles published by several SABM members in the highly recognized Anesthesia & Analgesia and Critical Care Nursing journals. These articles add to the vast literature base which speaks to PBM as the standard of care. Additional publications will be featured in upcoming newsletters, so feel free to share with us your contributions or those of your colleagues.
Our chosen Standard of the Quarter focuses on anemia management, an integral part of PBM. This aligns so well with Dr. Hohmuth’s Quantia MD educational piece regarding anemia management in the hospitalized patient. Also, look for the 4th edition of the SABM PBM Standards this year, including a new section of standards for neonates and pediatric PBM. Watch for launch at the annual meeting. These Standards continue to guide our programs and are truly the best of the best.
As always, the Newsletter team invites any comments and potential contributions. This is YOUR professional society and we want to feature items that are inclusive, important and meaningful.
Please peruse all the subsections and enjoy!
~ Dr. Carolyn Burns
